Our Story

I.D.AL. srl is a company specialized in the selection and distribution of high quality, Made in Italy, food products.

The company was born from the entrepreneurial initiative of Mr Vincenzo Abbatiello when, in the early 1950s in Durazzano, in province of Benevento, he started collecting milk and subsequently distributing and selling it. Thanks to the support of his family, Mr Vincenzo Abbatiello gradually decided to expand the range of products selected and distributed in the dairy sector, establishing direct commercial relationships with production sites throughout Italy.

The passion for food, the knowledge of the production plants and the expertise gained in the selection of various products pushed I.D.AL. to create its own brand in 1988. Originally, IDAL’s branded products only included a line of P.D.O. cheeses, but over the years the company decided to expand its products range and it is currently present in 9 agri-food segments (dairy, cold cuts, fruit and vegetables, pasta, preserves, seafood products, bakery products, ready-to-eat meals and beverages) and annually manages about 1.700.000 kg of products thanks to the daily commitment of 200 employees.

IDAL’s branded products are currently present in over 2.700 stores, located in the four regions where the company mainly operates: Campania, Molise, Puglia and Basilicata.

1950s

Mr Vincenzo Abbatiello started his business in province of Benevento with milk collection.

1960s

Started the distribution of packaged milk.

1970s

The decision to expand the products range distributed in the dairy sector.

1980s

Launch of IDAL’s brand in 1988.

Continuous expansion of IDAL’s branded products, selected on the basis of strict production and quality standards.
